Frequently Asked Questions
Before contacting Sarah we recommend that you read through the most common questions she is asked.
What do you have in your kit?
Like all professional artists will tell you the makeup kit is constantly getting stocked up with the latest products. Sarah does not specialize in certain brands but does stock the following to name a few - Nars, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua, Chanel, Urban Decay, Laura Mercier, Tom Ford and Dior. If for any reason a certain brand is requested please discuss this when contacting Sarah.
I have sensitive skin, what is best for me?
Before doing any make up Sarah will always ask if you have had or currently suffer from any allergies. A skin test can be done before all events and in most cases simply using a water based product can be the answer. On the rare occasion some clients will request to use their own products, please discuss this with Sarah if this is the case.
How do I arrange a booking?
Firstly contact Sarah using the dedicated form, then she will contact you and ask the details of the event you are planning. Bookings can be made in advance for all projects and events, payment may be required to secure the day.
If I am getting married, do I need a trial?
For Sarah a trial before a wedding is crucial. In most cases the bride may want to change her mind. It is because of this that a trial is recommended, it allows both you and Sarah to try out looks that suit you best. It is also advised that images are saved or sent to show Sarah the look that you are trying to achieve. Although she is more than able to advise you on her opinion it is esential that you have your own idea on what it is you want, this applies for hair too.
Where do you cover?
Sarah is happy to travel for work but generally covers the North West of England. When making a booking all prices and costing will be discussed before payment is accepted. Toll charges, hotel charges and parking fee may be added if required.
What happens if I need to cancel a booking?
Sarah requests that if a booking is cancelled it must be done four weeks prior to the date of service. If this is the case a full refund will be issued minus any deposit paid. If you are looking to cancel less than four weeks prior to the date of service a £50 charge may be added. When making a booking this can be discussed further, once payment is received you are in agreement of the terms.
What do I need to do for a trial and on the day of my wedding?
It is advised that before Sarah arrives an allocated space is made that will allow her to do services you have requested. Access to plugs, room for moving and a chair is also essential. If the area is not organised before Sarah arrives this may have a knock on effect with regards to the timings you have discussed. Depending on the services you require clean and dry hair must be done, makeup or other products should not be on the face. It may also be helpful to have on clothing that does not need to go over your head to be removed, a dressing gown, shirt or jacket for example.
Is a deposit required and when do I pay?
Sarah will require a deposit before securing any date. This amount may vary depending on the services and the number of clients she is covering. All deposits are fully redeemable against the final balance, payment for all services must be paid in full at least four weeks before the date of services.
Direct bank transfers and cash are accepted, proof of payment and invoices will be sent once any payment is received.
If you have any query that is not covered here then please contact Sarah direct to discuss it.
